In this tutorial by Davies Media Design I show you how to created an animated GIF in GIMP. You can apply this technique to making an animated YouTube banner, which is a new YouTube Channel feature that has been made available recently. Just make sure your dimensions for your document/background match those of a standard YouTube Channel Banner, and you’ll be good to go! Animated GIFs can be used in forums or as web banner ads to show multiple frames of a composition to create an “animation” for more dynamic content. I also go over how to create new layers, create text layers and add an “outer glow” effect to that text, and how to save the file for animation.
