Brandon Stanton – Adobe MAX 2015 – Community Inspires Creativity | Adobe Creative Cloud

Brandon Stanton takes the stage and is truly inspirational, telling his story that took him from the financial world of Chicago, to taking pictures and telling stories about the people he meets in New York. Brandon is doing work in other cities and countries too.

Brandon studied at the University of Georgia and worked as a bond trader in Chicago before starting “Humans of New York”—a photography and storytelling blog—in the summer of 2010. Over the course of four years, HONY has built a devoted following of over 15 million fans. He has appeared on Ellen, Good Morning America, Nightline, MSNBC, CNN, has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post, Mashable, and dozens of other media venues. Elle Luna – Adobe MAX 2015 – Community Inspires Creativity | Adobe Creative Cloud

Elle, designer and writer, takes the audience through the journey of “Must” vs “Should”, helping the audience see what really matters to them and their work.

Elle Luna paints, designs and writes. She also runs a textile venture, the Bulan Project, a collaboration between designers and master batik artists in Bali, and has previously worked as a designer at IDEO and with startups, including Mailbox, Medium, and Uber. Her first book, The Crossroads of Should and Must, debuted in April 2015, and she lives in San Francisco and online at elleluna.com.

Maira Kalman – Adobe MAX 2015 – Community Inspires Creativity | Adobe Creative Cloud

Maira Kalman, illustrator and writer, talks to the Adobe MAX audience about her latest work. How New York City and her family, and mom especially, inspire her amazing illustrations. Watch Maira show off her work with humor and love.

Maira Kalman was born in Tel Aviv and moved to New York with her family at the age of four. She was raised in bucolic Riverdale, the Bronx. She now lives in Manhattan.

Maira has written and illustrated Eighteen children’s books, including Ooh-­‐la-­‐la-­‐Max in Love, What Pete Ate, Fireboat: The Heroic Adventures of the John J. Harvey, 13 WORDS, a collaboration with Lemony Snicket, Why We Broke Up, with Daniel Handler, Looking at Lincoln, and Thomas Jefferson Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Everything.

She is a frequent contributor to The New Yorker Magazine, and is well known for her collaboration with Rick Meyerowitz on the “New Yorkistan” cover in 2001 and “The New York City Sub-­‐Culinary Map.” Maira is currently creating an illustrated column for The New Yorker based on travels to museums and libraries.
