In this tutorial, I show you how to crop an image into an circle using the free graphic design program GIMP. This photo editing tutorial teaches you how to erase the background in a circular shape around an image and save the image with a transparent background, thus giving you an image “cropped” into a circle. You can also use this same technique with any other shape by choosing one of the other shape selection tools besides the ellipse select tool!
This tutorial is for people of all skill sets – from beginners to expert GIMP users. GIMP is essentially the free version of Photoshop and is an image manipulation software.
