In this tutorial, I give an in-depth look at the NEW on-canvas gradient editing feature, or the “live edit” gradient (used with the blend tool) found in the latest version of GIMP. I am using GIMP 2.9.8 in this tutorial, but this feature will also be in the upcoming GIMP 2.10.
I define what the features of this feature are, including start and end enpoints, midpoints, and color stops. I’ll show you how to create custom gradients using both the old and new methods, and how to save your custom gradient.
