GIMP 2.10 Basics: Using the Foreground Select Tool
In this GIMP Basics tutorial, I show you an in-depth look at how to use the foreground select tool! This tool uses a process called image matting to distinguish the foreground from the background – allowing you to isolate an object with minimal work. This task is accomplish via two different algorithms – Matting Global and Matting Levin – which I will discuss in the tutorial.
This is an effective tool when trying to erase image backgrounds, cut objects out of images, or edit or make image adjustments to just the foreground or background. This is a great tool for beginners to learn!
