In this GIMP 2.10 tutorial, I show you how to create dramatic and realistic color light using a simple technique. I also cover some basic concepts of color theory (including subtractive and additive color systems), as well as some basics on how to determine the location of your light sources. This is a highly useful and simple tutorial for photographers and photo editors looking to add some extra effect and drama, emulating the use of color gels, to their studio photos in the editing room.
I use gradients, layer modes, and layer masks to create the final effect. Beginners will love this tutorial!
