What Are Out of Gamut Colors and How to Fix Them in GIMP
In this GIMP for print tutorial, I define what a “gamut” is, what it means for colors to be “out of gamut,” and how to fix any out of gamut colors before sending your photos or design compositions to the printer. This is a great way to ensure you can accurately preview what your images will look like in a respective color profile (i.e. the colors used by your printer) so as to not be totally surprised when receiving final printed images.
I use soft-proofing, as well as a “gamut check,” and the levels tool in this tutorial. I have made the tutorial easy enough for beginners to understand.
