Comic book characters are everywhere these days but before they were on the big screen, they were surrounded by hand lettering, speech bubbles, and “wham, “klang” sound effects. If you’re a fan of comics, chances are you’ve seen the work of this week’s guest, John Roshell. He has lettered thousands of comics for Marvel, DC, Dark Horse & Blizzard, designed the logos for Avengers, Daredevil, Black Panther & Angry Birds, and created hundreds of typefaces for Comicraft, an Adobe Fonts foundry partner.

In this episode, John will show us:
– How to create speech bubbles and sound effects in illustrator.
– How to layout lettering on a comic page.
– How to create a Title with impact.
– How to add textures and halftones in Photoshop for that real comics look.
