Get to know AR in this Adobe Aero series led by James Zachary, Director of Animation at Adobe Aero.
Adding interactivity with Triggers: Applying triggers is the first step in creating interactions within your augmented reality scenes.

What you learned: How to use the Start, Tap, and Proximity Triggers to start actions associated to objects within the AR experience.
• Triggers, when paired with actions, can be used to create interactions within your augmented reality scenes.
• Triggers are used to execute an action that you have chosen on an object, i.e. if you set the trigger as TAP, then the selected action is applied when you tap the object.
• There are 4 types of triggers in Aero:
◦START will trigger an action at the start of the experience.
◦TAP will trigger an action upon the viewer tapping an object in the scene.
◦PROXIMITY ENTER will trigger an action upon the viewer entering a defined distance set on an object within the scene.
◦PROXIMITY EXIT will trigger an action upon the viewer exiting a defined distance set on an object within the scene.
• Each trigger has three re-trigger options that inform Aero how you would like to restart the trigger:
◦After the Action is Complete, you cannot fire off the trigger again until the whole action block finishes.
◦Immediately, you will interrupt the action being performed and restart it immediately upon the trigger.
◦Never, the trigger only fires once and then it is over and will not trigger again.
Pro tip:
• Hiding an object in the Scene Graph and using a START trigger along with a SHOW action is a great behavior to use when revealing objects in your augmented reality experience.
