What you learned: Navigating around the Adobe Aero workspace
• The Aero home screen gives you access to cloud Aero documents, your recent files and your deleted files. It is also where you can create or open existing Aero scenes (.real files).
• The Edit mode is where you craft and create your augmented reality scene by importing assets, adding interactivity, and creating behaviors.
• The Preview mode is a way to preview the AR experiences and see how your scene all works together with interactive and animated elements including triggers, behaviors, and sounds.
• Share your AR experience using the Share icon in the upper right of the Aero screen. You can share your experiences as a QR code, link or as the native Aero .real project format.
• Behavior Builder is where you create customizable triggers and actions to make your augmented reality experience interactive.
• The Scene Graph lists all the objects in the scene and allows you to select objects easily and to view, hide, lock and rename those objects.
• The Properties panel is where you can use a numerical value to change the position, rotation or scale of an asset in your scene. It is also where you can change an object’s pivot point.

Pro tip:
• Working on a desktop or laptop allows for more canvas space and can help make setting up a scene easier. Many creators may start by setting up their scenes on their computer and then move to their mobile device to refine and test the mobile AR.

Importing your Assets | Getting to Know AR in Adobe Aero | Adobe Creative Cloud

Importing your assets into Aero: Building a scene and importing 2D, 3D and animated PNGs.
Download Adobe Aero to get started: https://www.adobe.com/products/aero.html
Download practice files HERE: https://helpx.adobe.com/aero/how-to/asset-import-aero.html?playlistPath=/services/playlist.helpx/products:SG_ADOBEAERO/playlist:topic/learn-path:key-techniques/set-header:guides/en_us.json

What you learned: How to import GLBs, PNG, and animated PNG sequences into an Aero scene.
• Aero is the application to assemble your assets and to add interactivity to you augmented reality scene. Aero is not the place where you create those assets.
• There are three ways to import assets into Aero; File – import, the Import button (+ icon) and drag-and-drop from a desktop window.
• Supported 2D file types:
◦PNG
◦JPG
◦Photoshop files (retains layering information)
◦SVG
◦TIF
◦Animated GIFs
◦Animated PNG sequences – Need to import as a zipped file
• Supported 3D file types:
◦GLB – This is the preferred 3D file type because of its small file size, fast loading time and texture/material support.
◦GLTF – Similar to GLB but has multiple files (model, textures, animation) within one folder.
◦FBX – Need to import as a zipped file along with the textures and materials
◦OBJs – Need to import as a zipped file along with MDL or MTL materials
◦3DS
◦Collada (DAE)
• Learn more about the file types by going to the Supported file format page: https://helpx.adobe.com/aero/using/supported-file-formats.html
• Augmented reality scenes are experienced on the viewers mobile device. Visit our Optimizing assets for Augmented Reality HelpX page for more information creating user-friendly experiences:
https://helpx.adobe.com/aero/using/optimize-assets-for-ar.html

Pro tip:
• Use textures and/or images that are 1080×1080, or smaller, for the best mobile friendly AR experience.

Behavior Builder Basics | Getting to Know AR in Adobe Aero | Adobe Creative Cloud

Get to know AR in this Adobe Aero series led by James Zachary, Director of Animation at Adobe Aero.

Behavior Builder Basics: Behavior Builder is the interface that integrates interactions into your augmented reality scene.
Download Adobe Aero to get started: https://www.adobe.com/products/aero.html
Download practice files HERE: https://helpx.adobe.com/aero/how-to/integrate-interaction-behavior-builder-aero.html?playlist=/services/playlist.helpx/products:SG_ADOBEAERO/learn-path:key-techniques/playlist:topic/set-header:animation/en_us.json&ref=helpx.adobe.com

What you learned: How to create AR interactions in Adobe Aero using Behavior Builder.
• Behavior builder is the central place to create, edit and iterate on all the interactions in your augmented reality experience.
• Trigger tells Aero to perform an action based off some sort of viewer input, i.e. TAP.
• Action is the event triggered on an asset, i.e. SPIN.
• Behavior is the combination of a trigger plus an action, i.e. TAP triggers a SPIN action.
• Selected option in Behavior Builder is used to show only the behaviors associated with a selected asset.
• Actions can be executed sequentially or in parallel.
• When actions are stacked and grouped in a container, all actions within the group will have to complete before executing the next action in the sequence.
• Blocks in Behavior Builder can easily be moved around to fully control the order of execution of your actions.
• Actions may show an alert to indicate when they require your input to be validated and executed

Pro tip:
• The Duplicate command in the Action Panel will duplicate the assets behaviors as well, saving you time on creating interactive scenes.
