NEW GIMP Multi-Layer Locking Features Coming to GIMP 3.0 #Shorts

The GIMP 2.99.10 development release version rolled out some brand new multi-layer locking features! These updates help improve your workflow as well as polish GIMP’s UI for a cleaner look.

In GIMP, the free photo editor, you can now shift+click to apply layer locks to ALL layers in your composition, or alt+click to selectively lock multiple selected layers. GIMP is making huge strides!

What’s New in GIMP 2.99.10 Development Release Version

In this video, I cover all the new features released with the GIMP 2.99.10 development release version. With this release, GIMP introduced a brand-new “Splash Screen” with helpful links to GIMP documentation, donation pages, development, and more. GIMP also introduced “Layer Sets” for grouping layers together based on user-set properties, which allows for quickly finding and editing these layers together.

This development release also rolled out new icons for the various layer locking features in GIMP. These icons are part of the new UI that the development team has been working on to allow this feature to work with the multi-layer selection feature.

The Tool Options for Brush Dynamics have been improved, making it much easier to turn off brush dynamics.
